How SeaLifeHits collects, uses, stores and protects personal data

In short: SeaLifeHits uses personal data to create and operate member accounts, deliver traffic-exchange and advertising services, manage payments and commissions, protect the service from abuse, communicate with members and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Personal Data?

SeaLifeHits is currently administered and operated by Sig Skeie from Norway.

Public contact address: Stongvegen 80, 4270 Åkrehamn, Norway
Privacy contact email: sealifehitz@gmail.com

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, SeaLifeHits is responsible for determining how and why personal data is processed in connection with the SeaLifeHits service.

Historical SeaLifeHits legal pages identify Cruisin Along, Australia, with ABN 65 513 322 394 and ABR / ASIC 165294011. The present registration status and legal effect of the historical ownership/business arrangement are being verified. This page will be corrected if official verification shows that an update is required.

2. Personal Data We Collect

The data SeaLifeHits processes depends on how you use the service.

Category Examples

Payment and commission data Transaction references, payment status, membership purchases, commission balances, payout information and payment details you provide where required for PayPal or another available payment/payout method. SeaLifeHits does not need your PayPal password or online-banking password.
Communications Support requests, emails, private messages, complaints, refund requests and other communications with SeaLifeHits.
Technical data Browser/device information, server logs, cookie/session identifiers and information generated when you use the website, where reasonably necessary for functionality, security, diagnostics or another lawful purpose.

SeaLifeHits does not ask members to provide special-category personal data such as health information, religious beliefs, political opinions, biometric data or similar sensitive information as part of normal membership. Please do not submit such information unless there is a clear and lawful reason to do so.

3. Where the Data Comes From

Most personal data is provided directly by you when you register, update your profile, submit websites or advertising, make a purchase, request a payout or contact support.

Some information is generated automatically when you use the service, such as server logs, session information, traffic-credit activity and security records. Payment providers may also send SeaLifeHits transaction status or reference information necessary to confirm a purchase, cancellation, refund or payout.

4. Why We Process Personal Data and Our Legal Bases

Purpose Typical legal basis
Create and manage your member account; provide surfing, advertising, credits, referrals, commissions, memberships and requested service features. Necessary to perform the membership/service agreement or to take steps you request before entering into an agreement.
Process purchases, recurring membership events, refunds, commissions and payouts. Performance of the agreement and, where applicable, compliance with legal/accounting obligations.
Prevent fraud, cheating, duplicate-account abuse, spam, malware, unauthorised access and technical misuse. SeaLifeHits' legitimate interests in operating and protecting a secure, fair service, after considering members' rights and interests; in some cases legal obligations may also apply.
Send essential account, transaction, security, service and policy communications. Performance of the agreement, legal obligations and/or legitimate interests, depending on the communication.
Send marketing or promotional email. Consent where required, or another lawful basis expressly permitted by applicable marketing law. You can opt out of marketing communications without losing essential service messages.
Comply with legal duties, respond to lawful requests and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal obligation and/or legitimate interests, as applicable.
Use non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, if enabled. Valid consent where consent is required by applicable cookie/privacy law.
SeaLifeHits will not use personal data for a materially different purpose without an appropriate legal basis and, where required, additional information or consent.

5. Who We May Share Data With

SeaLifeHits does not sell personal data.

Personal data may be shared only where reasonably necessary with categories such as:

  • hosting, server, database and technical service providers;
  • payment and payout providers, including PayPal where used;
  • email and service-communication providers;
  • security, anti-abuse, backup or technical support providers where used;
  • professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
  • public authorities, courts, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is legally required or otherwise lawfully justified.

Service providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary for their role and must handle personal data under applicable privacy and contractual requirements.

Member-submitted websites shown through the SeaLifeHits surf system are independent third-party websites. When you visit them, those third parties may process information under their own privacy policies. SeaLifeHits does not control the privacy practices of independent websites merely because they appear in the traffic exchange.

6. International Data Transfers

SeaLifeHits is operated from Norway, but some service providers, payment providers, hosting infrastructure or other recipients may process data outside Norway or the European Economic Area.

Where GDPR or other applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, SeaLifeHits will rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another legally permitted mechanism.

7. How Long We Keep Personal Data

SeaLifeHits keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Account and service data is normally kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed to close the account, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or handle legitimate support issues.
  • Transaction, payment, commission and accounting records may be kept for the period required by applicable accounting, tax, anti-fraud or other legal obligations.
  • Security and server logs are kept only for a period reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics, abuse prevention and investigation.
  • Data retained solely on the basis of consent will be deleted or the relevant processing stopped when valid consent is withdrawn, unless another lawful basis requires or permits continued retention.

When information is no longer needed, SeaLifeHits will delete, anonymise or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to lawful retention obligations and reasonable backup cycles.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

SeaLifeHits may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary for functions such as login sessions, account security, preferences and reliable operation of the service.

If SeaLifeHits uses analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies that require consent, those technologies should not be activated before valid consent has been obtained. Where consent is required, users must be able to make a real choice and withdraw consent as easily as it was given.

Third-party websites displayed through the traffic-exchange/surf system may use their own cookies or tracking technologies. Those websites are independent from SeaLifeHits and are governed by their own privacy and cookie information.

Important operational rule: the actual cookies and tracking technologies used on SeaLifeHits must match this policy and the site's consent mechanism. If new non-essential tracking is added, this policy and the consent controls must be updated where required.

9. Email and Marketing Communications

SeaLifeHits may send service messages that are necessary or reasonably connected to your account, including security notices, transaction information, payout information, important policy changes and operational notices.

Marketing and promotional email will be handled separately from essential service messages and sent only where permitted by applicable law. Where an unsubscribe option is required, SeaLifeHits will provide one and honour valid opt-out requests.

10. Your Data-Protection Rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights including:

  • the right to be informed about how your personal data is used;
  • the right to request access to your personal data;
  • the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • the right to request deletion in circumstances where the law provides that right;
  • the right to request restriction of processing;
  • the right to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
  • the right to data portability where the legal conditions are met;
  • the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal;
  • the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

For requests relating to your SeaLifeHits personal data, contact sealifehitz@gmail.com. SeaLifeHits may need to verify your identity before providing, changing or deleting account information.

In Norway, you may also contact the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet): www.datatilsynet.no.

11. Security

SeaLifeHits uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, loss or disclosure.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Members should use a strong, unique password, protect their login credentials and contact SeaLifeHits promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.

12. Automated Decisions

SeaLifeHits may use automated rules for ordinary service functions such as assigning credits, identifying obvious duplicate or suspicious activity, applying membership settings or operating games and bonuses.

SeaLifeHits does not intend to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on an individual unless a lawful basis exists and any safeguards required by applicable law are provided.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the service, data practices, providers or legal requirements change.

If a change materially affects how personal data is processed, SeaLifeHits will provide additional notice where required by law and will seek consent where a new consent is legally required.
